Fringe Flicks Archive: August 2024

Discover a World of Thought-Provoking Films

Fringe Flicks is a series of film nights in Liverpool run by People Versus TV. We showcase short films, videos, and feature-length films that are unconventional, experimental, subversive, or just downright stupid. Our events provide a platform for artists to present their work and for audiences to experience unique and thought-provoking cinema. Fringe Flicks aims to create a space for creative expression and offers a chance for people interested in weird film to meet each other and chat.

August 2024 Event Recap

On Friday, August 2nd, 2024, we had an amazing instalment of Fringe Flicks at DoES Liverpool. The evening featured the action-packed comedy Kung Fu Hustle, directed by and starring Stephen Chow. This 2004 cult classic blends martial arts, slapstick humour, and stunning visual effects to deliver an unforgettable cinematic experience. We followed the journey of Sing, a hapless wannabe gangster, as he navigated through a turf war in 1940s China.
