Make Your Mark.
A PVTV Creative Meet Ups production
A man desperate to regain his lost edge becomes convinced that a grotesque new deodorant is the key to confidence, power, and success… but the solution might be worse than the problem.
Dogshit was developed organically through People Versus TV’s Creative Meet-Ups in Liverpool, open collaborative filmmaking sessions where participants experiment with ideas together. Rather than starting with a finished script, the project evolved through group input, experimentation and improvisation.
The film began as a conversation about masculinity and confidence culture. We were interested in how advertising often promises transformation through products, presenting exaggerated ideas of power, success and self-improvement. We came up with a question, “What would an anti-woke deodorant look like?”
